Two children shot by driver after throwing snowballs at cars

Two children have been shot and injured by a driver after they threw snowballs at passing cars in the US state of Wisconsin.

One of the snowballs hit the motorist’s vehicle and the person then opened fire.

Authorities said a girl aged 12 and a 13-year-old boy were taken to hospital following the shooting on Saturday night in a neighbourhood north of downtown Milwaukee.

The city’s police department tweeted: “Preliminary investigation indicates both victims were with a group of juveniles throwing snowballs at cars passing by.
