With a fist in the air, outgoing President Donald Trump boarded Marine One to make a fast exit from the White House – but he could not escape the Twitter burn as neatly.
Among the trending hashtags on the day Joe Biden took his oath as the 46th president of the US were #Trumpslastday, #byeDon and the predictable, but for Twitter, deliciously relevant #Trumpyourefired.
Posting a picture of Mr Trump standing on the Marine One helicopter steps just moments before his lift-off from the White House, climate change activist Greta Thunberg tweeted: “He seems like a very happy old man looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!”
