Pasadena Water & Power Annual Scholarship
Pasadena Water and Power is now accepting applications for its annual Educational Scholarship. Two high school seniors from Pasadena will be chosen to receive a first place $5,000 and a second place $2,500 award towards college expenses. The program is open to students from both public and private schools.
Students must submit an application, academic transcripts, and write an essay on the topic of sustainability. Applicants must live within PWP’s service territory, be currently enrolled as a high school senior in the City of Pasadena, and provide proof of acceptance for the 2019-20 school year at an accredited two-year or four-year post-secondary institution. The deadline to submit an application is Monday, April 22, 2019.
Essay Topic:
Pasadena Water and Power strives to improve its water and energy efficiency through the use of renewable resources. Using your educational experience and research skills, come up with a new invention or describe an up-and-coming technology that will allow Pasadena residents or businesses to become more energy and/or water efficient.
- Choose one area of focus: energy or water
- Take into consideration cost, sustainability and accessibility of your technology or invention
- Drawings and/or diagrams are encouraged
Also consider how you would ensure that your new technology or invention is embraced by the Pasadena community.
