Netflix apologises over delayed ‘Love is Blind’ reunion episode
Netflix has apologised after technical difficulties caused a delay in the live stream of the Love Is Blind reunion on Sunday.
The show, presented by Vanessa and Nick Lachey, had been scheduled to stream from Los Angeles at 5pm PT (1am BST).
Netflix subscribers joined a waiting room 10 minutes before the show’s start time – and those who did were still there an hour later.
The show began to air at around 6.16pm PT. However, some viewers still reported delays.
The streaming giant tweeted an apology on Monday. It said: “To everyone who stayed up late, woke up early, gave up their Sunday afternoon… we are incredibly sorry that the Love is Blind Live Reunion did not turn out as we had planned.
“We’re filming it now and we’ll have it on Netflix as soon as humanly possible. Again, thank you and sorry.”
Love is Blind: The Live Reunion was the streamer’s second live event after Chris Rock: Selective Outrage in March.
The dating show’s delay had many people sharing their outrage on social media.
“I’m ready…NOW GET THE STREAM TO WORK!!!,” one viewer joked.
“I hate you so much right now,” another social media user said.
Another viewer quipped: “Y’all better go back to shipping out DVDs that was more your speed.”
Netflix had promised to bring in questions from viewers on the show to be answered by some of the cast. So far, it’s unclear whether the delay affected the question and answer session.
US member of Congress, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also joked: “Someone call Lucia the seamstress to fix this. I believe in her.”
While actor Kevin Fredericks added lightheartedly: “Somebody who got laid off from Netflix did this before Love is Blind went live.”

The reality TV show, created by Chris Coelen and produced by Kinetic Content, first premiered on Netflix in 2020 and has now hit its fourth season this year.

The series follows fifteen men and fifteen women hoping to find love.
The men and women must date each other for ten days in built-in “pods”, where they can speak to one another but cannot see each other.
If the daters want to, after ten days they can extend a marriage proposal. Only after agreeing to marriage can a couple meet, when they are tested further in the dating experiment.
